It is the responsibility of all certified organic operators to request export documentation from PACS as listed below. You must have these documents prior to shipping Canadian organic products to foreign markets under the existing equivalency arrangements. Shipments that do not have this documentation prior to shipping may be rejected at the receiving port of entry and returned to Canada at the operator's expense. Documentation to support quantities being shipped will be required for verification at the time of your request. Please contact PACS well in advance of anticipated exports to ensure adequate time to fulfill your request.
- Canadian organic products exported to the EU under the EUCOEA must be accompanied by a "Certificate of Inspection for Import of products from Organic production into the European Community" (the "Certificate of Inspection") as per Article 13 and Annex V of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1235/2008.
- Canadian organic products exported to Japan under the JCOEA must be accompanied by an export certificate including the relevant information from Article 35 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Act on Japanese Agricultural Standard.
- Canadian organic products exported to Mexico under the CMOEA must be accompanied by an "International Transactions Document", format O-SQ-F03 provided by the National Service of Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA) that attests compliance with the terms of Appendix 1 of the MOU, issued by a certification body (CB) accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
- Canadian organic products exported to South Korea under the CSKOEA must be accompanied by NAQS import certificate .CFIA accredited certification bodies must register and create their own accounts in the NAQS Organic Import System to issue NAQS import certificates.
- Canadian organic products exported to Switzerland under the Canada-Switzerland Organic Equivalency Arrangement must be accompanied by a Certificate of Inspection – (Word format) (87 kb) according to Article 24 (a) of the Ordinance on Organic Farming and the Labelling of Organically Produced Products and Foodstuffs (Organic Farming Ordinance)
- Canadian organic products exported to Taiwan under the CTOEA must be accompanied by a Certificate for Transactions of Organic Products which is issued by a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) accredited Certification Body (CB) attesting compliance with the terms of the Canada Taiwan organic equivalency recognition letters.
- Canadian organic products exported to Great Britain (GB) under the UKCOEA must be accompanied by a Certificate of Inspection (CoI). This will be a GB CoI.
- Canadian organic products exported to the U.S. under the USCOEA must be associated with an NOP Import certificate for all shipments. NOP Import Certificates are generated by the CBs in the Organic Integrity Database, using requests provided by certified exporters of organic products to the United States.
